Seven glyphosate formulations to be registered for Biotech Breeding crops

On 26 Apr., 2024, the Institute forthe Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA)publicized the information of the fourth batch of pesticide products to beapproved for registration in 2024. As another important announcement of theproduct system in the field of weeding of biological breeding crops after thatof the first batch on 29 Mar., it contained seven glyphosate potassiumsalt/glyphosate-isopropylammonium products that have been registered andpublicized for biological breeding crops.

On 29 Mar., 2024, 2 of the firstbatch of glyphosate transgenic crop herbicides were registered and announced,and the affiliated enterprises were Zhejiang Wynca Chemical Group Co., Ltd. andNantong Nanshen Plant Protection Technology Development Co., Ltd. On 26 Apr., 7transgenic crop herbicides from Syngenta, Bayer, Yangnong Chemical’s subsidiaryand Xingfa Group’s subsidiary were registered and publicized, indicating thatChina’s domestic GM legal pesticides are gradually enriching and improving.

The two batches, including 9glyphosate-isopropylammonium/glyphosate potassium salt products, involve atotal of 3 corn transformants, i.e. DBN9936, DBN9858 and DBN3601T (DBN9936×DBN9501), and 1 soybean transformant DBN9004.
