During 2011-2016, China’s import/export volume and value both showed increases first and then decreases. In regard to pesticide technical, its export volume presented decreases in the proportion to the total figure while the corresponding export value only had small changes, making up about 60% of the national figure. By contrast, the export value of pesticide formulations rose frequently, accounting for increasing proportion to the total, and the export volume also grew quickly. All this indicated that the domestic pesticide industry has recovered as a whole.
According to the latest agricultural data by the Vietnam Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development (MARD), in the first ten months of 2016, Vietnam imported USD575 million worth of pesticides, among which 47.5% were originated from China by value.
In recent years, Cambodia’s agricultural industry has been developing at a tremendous speed and the importing of fertilizers and pesticides have also been growing fast, according to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor‘s Office of the Embassy of China in Cambodia.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), 358,315 tonnes chemical pesticides have been produced in China in Dec.2015, down 0.5% YoY. Taking up 46.0% of all, a total of 165,670 tonnes herbicides was produced, decreasing by 6.3% YoY.
On 22-24 November, 2015, the 31th China Plant Protection Information Exchange & Pesticide and Sprayer Facilities Fair was held in Hefei City, Anhui Province. During this, the first enterprise lists for safe, scientific and reduced use of pesticides were unveiled. Directors such as Sun Shubao from the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) were present to award prizes to enterprises.
In order to guarantee the safety in agricultural production and the safety in the quality of agricultural produce and master the production, sale and safety risk conditions of the 4 pesticides, including acephate, carbosulfan, dimethoate and thiodicarb, regions such as Jiangsu and Shandong provinces organised related district- and county-level crop protection and pesticide administrations to make investigations on the production, sale and use of the aforementioned 4 pesticides.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in May 2015 the total output of chemical pesticides was 292,415 tonnes in China, down 1.7% over the same period last year; while in Jan.-May 2015 the total output of chemical pesticides was 1,502,003 tonnes, up 0.37% YoY.
