On 9 Aug., 2018, the China Association of Pesticide Development and Application held a standing council, on which, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) said that it would try to phase out highly-toxic pesticides in five years, conduct re-evaluation on old ones with the history of over 15 years and keep pushing forward the registration of pesticides for minor crops.
On 10 August 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (MOA) unveiled the agricultural produce supply and demand analysis made this month. It is expected that in 2018/19, the demand for corn will outweigh the production - the balance at the year of the period will reduce by 17.75 million tonnes. This means that the status quo where the corn supply outweighs the corn demand will be changed, and the corn planting area may be increased instead, due to the growths in corn price.
From 4 to 5 Dec., 2018, the Chemical Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry together will hold the CAC Pakistan 2018, which is the agrochemical, agro-machine and seed industry exposition in Lahore, Pakistan. The expo aims to promote the exchange and cooperation of China and Pakistan in agrochemicals and agro-machine devices and technologies to push forward the agricultural development between the two countries.
