On 3 June, 2014, the registration of 95% mesosulfuron-methyl technical by Hebei Shijiazhuang Xingbai Bio-engineering Co., Ltd. was approved. The producer becomes the first domestic registrant of this product (excluding those of repackaging ones, similarly hereinafter).
On 26 June, 2014, Winall Hi-Tech Seed Co., Ltd. (Winall Hi-Tech) held a meeting, on which the Proposal of the Application, together with Zhejiang University, to the Ministry of Agriculture of China for the Industrial Research on Insect-resistant GM Corn. If the application is successful, Winall Hi-Tech will, as required, invest self-raised fund into the operation of the project.
According to the joint Announcement No. 1745, by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Quality Supervision，Inspection and Quarantine, the registration, production license and production of paraquat AS for domestic market shall be revoked from 1 July, 2014; the paraquat AS registration for export of TKL producers is allowed. From 1 July, 2016 onwards, the sale and application of paraquat AS is banned in the domestic market. However, there haven’t been any report on the industrial production of newly developed paraquat formulations, thought there are reports on those which have acquired registrations.
On 25 June, 2014, Jiangsu Jiujiujiu Technology Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Jiujiujiu) signed a contract with Jiangsu Qiheng Agrochemical Technology Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Qiheng) in Jiangsu Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone, agreeing supply of 3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-ol sodium to the latter from July 2014 to June 2015. The supply volume and value involved reach 14,400 tonnes and USD80 million.
