In light of the 2015 annual report of Sinochem International Corporation (Sinochem International), during the report period, the company’s revenue and net profit attributable to shareholders were USD6.8 billion and USD74.3 million, which dropped by 2.7% and 57.7% year on year respectively. Its revenue from pesticides slipped by 12.2% year on year to USD408.8 million.
On 5 May, 2016, Jiangsu Environmental Protection Department (the Department) suspended the approval of two chemical parks, namely Lingang Industrial Area in Guanyun County and Jiangsu Lianyungang Chemical Industrial Park in Guannan County in consideration of the serious environmental protection issue. During the six months of suspension, the province, city and county level environmental protection departments will temporarily stop the project approval of the two chemical parks except for energy reduction and ecological environment protection.
According to statistics from Think Real, in Jan. 2016, the export volume and value of glyphosate in China were 70,310 tonnes and USD155.7 million, up by 24.0% and 21.6% respectively over those in Dec. 2015; up 10.9% and down 17.0% respectively year on year.
According to the full-year financial report released by ABA Chemicals Corporation (ABACHEM or ABA Chemicals), in 2015, the company made the sales of USD97.0 million, up by 19.2% YoY, of which the net profit was up by 21.2% to USD9.5 million.

On 26 April, 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture of China (MOA) published a notice about the strengthening of pesticide supervision and management, legal cracking down of the production and sale of shoddy pesticides as well as illegal use of pesticides to agricultural departments around the country. It decided to continue the action plan of pesticide overhaul nationwide in 2016.
On 29 April, 2016, Fuhua Tongda Agro-chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (Fuhua Tongda, the largest glyphosate producer in China) released a bond prospectus. Approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Fuhua Tongda will issue bonds this year for <=USD170.1 million.
Zhejiang Shenghua Biok Biology Co., Ltd. (Shenghua Biok) earned a decreased revenue but an increasing net profit in 2015, according to its 2015 annual report released recently. Specifically, the company’s revenue fell by 24.8% to USD156.2 million year on year, while its net profit reached USD21.6 million, a 68.7% increase over last year.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China (MOA) again published on 28 April, 2016 a warning that the possibility of an outbreak of major wheat pests and diseases such as wheat head blight and aphids appearing in panicle stage was increasing as a result of the strong impact of El Niño on climatic variation. It’s predicted that pests would heavily hit the wheat fields at the middle and late stages of planting. Specifically, wheat head blight will break out in the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River, the Changjiang-Huaihe Area and the southern wheat planting areas in Huang-Huai Area; aphids appearing in panicle stage will severely strike the wheat fields in the majority of the Huang-Huai-Hai Area. So far, the MOA and its affiliated departments have released five warnings about wheat pests and diseases in total.
