Supervision and spot check results of pesticides by MOA in 2015

On 26 Feb., 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture of China (MOA) published the Supervision and Spot Check Results of Third Batch of Pesticides in 2015, according to which the qualification rate of the 2,106 spot checked pesticides was 83.4%.


Nissan Chemical’s amisulbrom to first get registered in China

Among this year’s second batch of products to get approval on registration from the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA), name list released on 26 of this February, amisulbrom products (97.5% technical and 18% SC) developed by Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd. (Nissan Chemical) will get registered in China. The formulation is registered for controlling cucumber downy mildew. These will be the first-ever registrations of the product in China.


Key products to be promoted and new ones to be launched by FMC in 2016

On 25 Feb., 2016, on the 19th Jiangsu Pesticide and Pesticide Spray Machine Information and Technology Exchange Meeting held at the Nanjing International Conference Center, the regional manager of the FMC Corporation (FMC), Huang Zhongping, introduced 10 products it focuses on promoting and 2 that are going to be launched in 2016, which covered herbicides, fungicides, biostimulants and nutrients.


Beijing Yoloo + DuPont to cooperate on chlorantraniliprole etc

On 26 February, 2016, Beijing Yoloo Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Beijing Yoloo) reached an agreement of strategic cooperation on specific products and market operations with representatives from DuPont led by Huang Tianqiang, Business Director of Greater China Division and FarraSiregar, Marketing Supervisor of Asia Pacific, through which both parties become strategic cooperative partners formally. Specifically, the two companies held discussions about aspects including strategies for marketing Jiateng (35% chlorantraniliprole), future changes of the market and follow-up actions on the cooperation.


Bayer obtains first registrations of thiencarbazone-methyl TC and SC in China

On 25 Feb., 2016, Bayer CropScience obtained the registrations of 98% thiencarbazone-methyl TC and 26.7% thiencarbazone-methyl + isoxaflutole SC from the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA). Both products are first registered in China.


MOA: expand potato planting area to 6.7 million ha by 2020

On 23 Feb., 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture of China (MOA) published the Guidance Opinion on Promoting Development of Potato Industry, proposing potato to be a staple grain, expanding its planting area and promoting its development. By 2020, the planting area of the crop shall be expanded to over 6.7 million, the proportion of planting area of varieties suitable for processing as staple food shall reach 30% and the ratio of consumed potato as staple food shall account for 30% of the total.


Lier Chemical: production capacity of glufosinate-ammonium TC in Mianyang base to reach 5,000 t/a

On 27 February, 2016, Lier Chemical Co., Ltd. (Lier Chemical) announced the decision to raise USD15.0 million for the technological reconstruction and capacity expansion of the glufosinate-ammonium TC project located in Mianyang base (Sichuan Province). Accordingly, it is expected to be put into operation in September this year.


Lianhe Chemical plans to raise USD222.9 million to invest in pesticide intermediate projects

On 25 Feb., 2016, Lianhe Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (Lianhe Chemical) published a notice saying that the company plans to invest no more than USD222.9 million through non-public stock release. The fund will be mainly used in four projects, namely the 445t/a pharmaceutical intermediate project, 1,000t/a LH-1 technological reform project, 9,000t/a ammoxidation series product technological reform project and supplement of cash flow.


ICAMA: each province should make work proposal to solve problem of short supply of pesticides for specialty minor crops

On 3 March, 2016, the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) announced that in 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture will map out a fiscal project to administrate the registrations of pesticides for specialty minor crops, so as to solve the problem of short supply of pesticides for minor crops. Accordingly, every province-level institute for the control of agrochemicals should make proposal for this project, which should be submitted before 10 March.


CAC Shanghai: top 20 pesticide exporters in 2015 listed

On 9-11 March, 2016, the China International Agrochemical & Crop Protection Exhibition (CAC Shanghai) was held. The “2015 Top 20 Pesticide Exporters” list was unveiled officially. Beijing Nutrichem Co., Ltd. (Nutrichem) continued heading the list.
