On 26 June, 2018, the Standardization Committee of the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) held an initiation meeting about the group formulation of standards for unmanned aerial planes for plant protection in Beijing, on which Li Zhonghua, Secretary-general of the CCPIA was invited for guidance. The meeting was attended by 18 scientific research institutions, colleges and enterprises, all of which have outstanding performance in the field of unmanned aerial planes.
On 28 June, 2018, three companies including Labor Kaifeng Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Subin Bio-agrochemical Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Henglong Crop Protection Co., Ltd. each obtained a registration of pyraclostrobin technical (TC), and the total number of such registrations in China therefore reached 12 in the first half of 2018 alone.
In June 2018, the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (ICAMA) published the sixth batch of pesticides planned to be approved, according to which 17 spirotetramat products are expected to get their registrations. Obviously, it indicates the upcoming heat of spirotetramat registration in China.
According to the reports by many listed pesticide enterprises, their performance in the first half of 2018 exceeded market expectation. Six companies, namely Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Noposion Agrochemicals Co., Ltd., Lier Chemical Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Changqing Agrochemical Co., Ltd., Limin Chemical Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Lanfeng Biochemical Co., Ltd. published notices about their predicted performance improvement. Only two including Jiangsu Huifeng Agrochemical Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Lianhe Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. predicted decreases in performance. In addition, most of those pesticide companies that hadn’t released their pre-reports had estimated growth in their first half year performance in their first-quarter reports.

On 26 June 2018, Zhejiang Yongtai Technology Co., Ltd. (Yongtai Tech) signed an Equity Transfer Agreement with Ningbo Yongcheng Suhe Investment Partnership (Limited Partnership). It intended to acquire 85% of shares (= USD9.8 million) in Jiangsu Subin Agrochemical Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Subin) using its own funding of USD26.2 million.
On 7-8 August, 2018, the Sub-council of Chemical Industry of CCPIT will hold the 11th Brazil Agrochem Show in São Paulo, Brazil. Pesticide registration administration officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) and the Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) will be invited to the show, and the attendees will gather together for interpreting and discussing the latest pesticide registration policies in both China and Brazil. At the same time, in order to establish a regional agrochemical trading communication platform, the council will also send invitations to pesticide purchasers from American countries to join the show for trade communication.
From 29-30 June 2018, the Seminar on Pesticide Industry Chain and Purchase Management in China was held by China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Nearly 300 enterprise representatives attended the seminar. During this, Sun Shubao, President of CCPIA made a statement, hoping that no policy of cutting at a stroke is issued during the environmental check into pesticide production.
The Sub-council of Chemical Industry of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will hold the Second China-Canada Crop Protection Seminar on 16-18 July, 2018 in Saskatoon, Canada, in order to further facilitate Chinese agrochemical enterprises’ market exploration in Canada. At the same time, the attendees will also visit the local agrochemical markets for in-depth market survey.
Recently, Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical Group Co., Ltd. (Yangnong Group) revealed to the press that it had finished 73% of the 52 products to be relocated. In 2011, the Yangzhou City Government, Sinochem International Corporation and Yangnong Group signed a strategic cooperation deal to formally initiate the group’s action of “exit from the city and relocate into industrial park”.
