On 28 July, 2017, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China released the Stationary Pollution Source Directory for Pollutant Discharge Licensing (2017), announcing that the discharge licences will be first issued to 15 industries, including chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing, pesticides and nitrogenous fertilisers within 2017. Yet, the deadline for bio-chemical and microbial pesticide production will be extended to 2020.

On 20 June, 2017, Beijing Yoloo Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Beijing Yoloo) held a forum about the Prevention and Control of Resistance Thrips and Diamondback Moths in South China and New Product Launch Meeting in 2017, which was attended by 60 experts of plant protection and pesticide distributors from Guangdong Province, Hainan Province and Guangxi Autonomous Region. As pointed out by the Vice Chief of Beijing Yoloo, Zhao Xuecai, the company will embrace its break this year and next year by launching new products. On 20 July, 2017, the Forum for Green Fungicides and Crop Health was held in Hefei City, Anhui Province, on which the 2016 Plant Protection Product Contribution Award and Promotion Award was revealed. After strict selection, 104 products from around 90 enterprises and 60 outstanding promotion persons were awarded, including 50 fungicides (nematocides included), 18 insecticides, 19 herbicides and 5 plant growth regulators.
On 26 July, 2017, the National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Centre (NATESC) released its 2017 Third-generation Armyworm Occurrence Prediction, estimating slight strikes around the country, with high concentration in parts of Huang-Huai-Hai region and Northeast China given the large local quantities of adult armyworm. The national occurrence area is predicted to total 1.0 million ha (15.0 million mu). Occurrence of larvae may peak between late July and mid-Aug.
