On 25 June, 2018, the National Agro-Tech Extension and Sevice Center (NATESC) published the latest forecast on rice insect pests and diseases in China. The report said that as of the mid-June, rice insect pests and diseases have been found in 13 million ha (197 million mu) of paddy fields this year, a 5% increase over the same period last year; in the next period, as the weather conditions are generally favorable to the occurrence of rice pests and diseases in the rice planting areas of the Yangtze River Region, the NATESC reminded that local plant protection departments should keep close track of the real-time occurrence status, making in-time publishment as well as guidance to farmers on prevention and control.

(Jiangsu Huifeng)) made an announcement, saying that Jiangsu Huifeng’s fully owned subsidiary Jiangsu Huifeng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. had received the registration certificates of bioorganic fertilizers, compound biofertilizers and microbial agents from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
Since 2017 pyribenzoxim products have recorded growing registration in China. Between Jan. and April 2018, there were a total of 11 pyribenzoxim registration issued, vs. 10 in full-year 2017, according to the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA).

It is expected that Rice plant hopper, rice asiatic borer, and sheath blight will occur seriously, while rice leaf roller and rice blast disease will occurr moderately. There are 18.7 million hectares of occurrence area in the country, including 12.7 million hectares of insect occurrence and 6 million hectares of disease occurrence.
This year, 2018, sees the vigorous marketing of a new herbicide mixture of glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium (Commodity name: BaiSuDa) carried out by YongNong BioSciences Co., Ltd. (Yongnong Biosciences).
