MOA banns sale of some pesticides over Internet

On 21 Aug., 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture of China (MOA) published a notice about the strengthened pesticide use guidance and market supervision, which clearly regulates that the operation of restricted pesticides over the Internet is banned. It means that some pesticides can’t be sold on-line any more.

 

MOA acts against illegal fipronil use in poultry farming

Upon the end of Aug. 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China (MOA) issued two successive notices, announcing its decision to launch strict probes into illicit application of fipronil insecticides as veterinary drugs. This move mainly aims to prevent possible contamination in feed raw materials and finished products, and meanwhile strengthen pesticide application guidance and market monitoring.

 

Lier Chemical to raise USD128.4 million for production expansion projects

On 17 Aug., 2017, Lier Chemical Co., Ltd. (Lier Chemical) announced its decision to issue convertible bonds to raise funding of ≤USD128.4 million for the construction of its 10,000 t/a glufosinate-ammonium TC, 1,000 t/a epoxiconazole TC, and 1,000 t/a flumioxazin TC production projects, as well as the corresponding supporting facilities.

 

CCPIA sets up Collaboration Group for Glufosinate-ammonium Products

On 16 Aug., 2017, the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) officially set up the Collaboration Group for Glufosinate-ammonium Products, which includes 18 member units. The head and vice head of the group are Lier Chemical Co., Ltd., as well as Rosi Chemical Co., Ltd. and Yongnong Biosciences Co., Ltd. The Secretariat of the group is the CCPIA and the head unit participates in the secretariat work of the group.

 

Zhongnongfa Seed sues Henan Agrichemical for investment damages

On 15 Aug., 2017, Zhongnongfa Seed Industry Group Ltd. (Zhongnongfa Seed) made an announcement, stating that the Beijing Second Intermediate People’s Court had accepted its lawsuit against three of Zhongnongfa Henan Agrichemical Co., Ltd. (Henan Agrichemical)’s shareholders Guo Wenjiang, Zhao Junfeng and Song Quanqi for a claimed compensation of USD26.4 million. As of the time of writing, the court has yet to be held.

 

Zhejiang Wynca conducts UAV business in Ghana

Farmers in Ghana have been relying on traditional agricultural spraying methods which needs for manual operation with great labor intensity. Wynca Sunshine (Ghana) Agric Products & Trading Co., Ltd. (Wynca Sunshine, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Wynca Chemical Group Co., Ltd.) recently promoted the UAV spraying technology in the region for the first time.

 

MOA arranges safety production inspection work in pesticide industry

On August 15, 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) issued a notice, which said that in order to strengthen the safety production work in the aspects of pesticide production, management, use, and prevent safety production accidents in pesticide industry as well, the MOA decided to carry out a nationwide safety production inspection work in pesticide industry.

 

Shandong Qiaochang completes business restructuring

In July, 2017, Shandong Qiaochang Chemical Co., Ltd. (Shandong Qiaochang) made a successful conclusion to its business reorganisation in the handover conference. Directors of the company, as well as representatives from the Development and Reform Commission of Bincheng District, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, attended the event. Following this, the company would be renamed as Shandong Qiaochang Modern Agriculture Co., Ltd. (山东侨昌现代农业有限公司), Shen Xiaofeng designated as the legal representative of the restructured company.

 

Nantong Jiangshan plans to invest USD18.4 million to implement the amide herbicide project

Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemical Co., Ltd. (Nantong Jiangshan) issued a notice on 2 August, 2017, which said that the board of directors deliberated and adopted “the proposal on the implementation of the phase ii technical reform project for amide herbicide”.

 

ICAMA: 353 new registrations approved in July 2017

In July 2017, a total of 353 new pesticide registrations were approved in China, including 41 for pesticide technical/ TK, according to the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA).
