At the 2019 Annual Conference on International Pesticide Registration held on 7–8 November, 2019, a report on China’s import and export of pesticides in January–September this year was made by Zhang Wenjun, a researcher with the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (ICAMA), providing data support for overseas pesticide registration.
During the first nine months of 2019, China’s total import and export of pesticides increased slightly both in volume and in value. Specifically,
Total import and export volume: 1.10 million tonnes, up 2.0% year on year.
² Export: 1.07 million tonnes (including 380 active ingredients), up 2.5% year on year;
² Import: 29,500 tonnes, down 12.2% year on year.
Total import and export value: USD6.46 billion, up 1.6% year on year.
² Export: USD6.12 billion, up 2.6% year on year;
² Import: USD0.33 billion, down 13.1% year on year.
