Teaming up with each other and under the lead of academicians Yuan Longping and Zhao Chunjiang, two teams set up an academician work station in Qingdao, Shandong, which targets the research of saline-alkali and intelligent agriculture.
As introduced, Zhao from Chinese Academy of Engineering signed a deal about the establishment of the academician work station with Qingdao Jiutian Intelligent Agriculture Group, which is mainly engaged in the businesses of soil improvement, intelligent agriculture and artificial intelligence. Yuan is the chief scientist.
The work station will mainly focus on the four aspects:
1. Key and major technology problems as well as difficulty-tacking in soil improvement and intelligent agriculture.
2. Speeding up of the transformation and industrialization of achievements from science innovation and growing independent intellectual property rights and self-owned brands.
3. Joint cultivation of talents for soil improvement and intelligence nurture.
As known, Zhao's expertise is in the research of intelligent agriculture technologies like agriculture related computer network, database technology, intelligent agriculture expert system, model and decision supporting system and fast acquisition of field information.
In recent years, Qingdao has been inputting more and more in the field of soil improvement and intelligent agriculture. The local government already has invited Yuan's team to help the saline-alkali rice fields to keep planting saline and alkali tolerant rice. In Oct. 2018, the actual yield of the fields already reached 3,246 kg per ha.
