Dow and Alibaba sign cooperative deal about purchase platform

On 8 Aug., 2018, on the 2018 New Purchase Summit of Alibaba, Dow announced to open its purchase mall on the 1688 platform of Alibaba and signed a Dow Purchase Deal with it. It means that Dow has started to use the Alibaba platform to realize its digital transformation and improve its efficiency in purchase and sale.

According to Lin Yulin, President of Dow Great China Division, digital transformation uses the Internet and big data technology to constantly raise its efficiency in production, operation and sale while optimizing its clients cooperative experience. It can be seen that the company is trying new measures to timely serve its clients. As it’s known, Alibaba is a top global Internet company with great advantages in the high-tech fields of big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Dow hopes to explore cooperation in the data platform.

Early in 2016, the two companies have started their partership, when Dow opened the TrustPass on 1688. Then, it upgraded its official flagship store on the platform. The two are constantly deepening their cooperation.

By now, there are 11 million enterprises on the 1688 platform. In China, the supply and demand terminals are integrated through the platform where good-quality raw materials can be found fast to reduce production costs. Moreover, online sale makes it possible to reach markets that were not accessible in the past.
