China successfully holds agricultural exhibition in Kazakhstan

The Eighth Asia International Agricultural Exhibition (Kazakhstan) was partially held by the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) in the capital of Kazakhstan during 14-16 March, 2018, which was attended by 196 companies from 21 countries and regions. Attending countries included Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Canada, Turkey, Ukraine and the US. The exhibition specially set up the China Pesticide District, which displayed products from 16 Chinese pesticide enterprises under the lead of the CCPIA.

 

During the exhibition, enterprise representatives from Kazakhstan and China conducted heated discussions about problems like registration and investment in factory-building. As introduced, Kazakhstan produced 7,102 tonnes (26% of the total supply) of pesticides in 2017 and the rest were imported from customs union countries and others. There is little production of pesticide technical in the country.

 

As a matter of fact, the cultivable land area in Kazakhstan is 20 million ha, which is covered by main agricultural crops like wheat, corn, rape, cotton, barley, rice and sunflower. Mainly used pesticide products in the country in 2017 were glyphosate, 2,4-D, diclofop-methyl, propiconazol and diquat.

 

Moreover, main pesticide producers in the country include Khim Plus, Astana-nan, Kosagrocommerts Agrokhimia, KTK, Schelkovo-kz, who face competition from companies like Syngenta, BASF and Nufarm.

 

Vice President of Almabek MARS, who in charge of pesticide registration under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan expressed his appreciation to the CCPIA’s leading role in the organization of the exchange fair and his hope to continue the professional exchange and cooperation with Chinese pesticide enterprises to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the pesticide trade between the two countries.
